Alabama, We Dare Defend Our Rights.

On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to hear a challenge to the Massachusett's high court decision to allow gay marriage. The issue is clearly not out of the national picture. If you believe that the "moral values" voters shaped this election, prepare for more pandering to them. In early November, Karl Rove, on the short list for Time Magazine's person of the year[And still bitter about not getting that date with the new Sec. of Education. -ed.], stated that President Bush will "absolutely" seek a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage this term. The Christian Science Monitor now reports that between 12-15 states can put gay marriage on the ballot in 2006.

And now this.

A Republican lawmaker from Cottondale, Alabama wants to ban all books that have gay characters in it from public and university libraries![Wonder where Lynne Cheney stands on this bill. -ed.]
